The location is the main reason I’d consider coming back. It’s around the corner from Gran Husseini Mosque, the souks, and downtown shops, and for what I paid for four nights, I’d rather spend my money seeing the sights than stay farther out and rely on taxis. Staff were helpful and tried hard to make sure I was okay. Some didn’t speak English, but they even helped me cross the roads when I wanted to go out. I’m planning to return to Jordan and would stay here again, as long as I get a decent room. The first room was filthy and nothing like the advertised pictures. I’d booked a deluxe room, but arrived to find two single beds and dirty sheets with men’s hair on them, as if they hadn’t been washed. It was so noisy I couldn’t have slept. The toilet was smashed, the seat completely broken and unusable, and there were no towels. After an argument, I had no choice but to wait there until I could move rooms in the morning. The next room was quieter with a comfortable bed, but it had black mould on the bathroom wall above the shower. That needs sorting out. There are no kettles in the rooms, though you can get hot drinks for free from the dining room by reception whenever you want. The other thing that needs attention is smoking. Guests ignored the no smoking rule, and the corridors smelled of cigarettes from people smoking in their rooms. That’s a fire hazard. The rooms should also be tidied up to match the pictures, which feel like false advertising, especially to Europeans.
