The Compass Hotel

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spotless. With the location being just right, everything about my stay was great. Highly recommend it.

I’ve stayed here happily for almost six years in a row, but this visit has put me off for good, which is really disappointing. My room reeked of cigarettes despite my request for a non-smoking room. The safe didn’t work, even after I asked twice for it to be fixed, and the TV was completely out of order. The sheets smelled bad and weren’t clean, which is a major no-go. I also left my car with the valet for under 15 minutes and was charged 3 JOD. That felt like a total rip-off. I’m extremely disappointed, and won’t return or recommend the property.

For a quick Amman visit, it’s a cozy and convenient choice. The room had modern furniture and was in good condition. My only concern was cleanliness. I brought it up with the staff at checkout, and they said they’d take it into consideration.

I stayed four nights at The Compass Hotel and was much more impressed than I expected. The area is quiet, around 35km from QAIA, and the value is excellent. What really stood out was the team. I arrived at 2:30 AM and found that my company had booked the wrong date. The receptionist fixed the booking with kindness and professionalism, so what could have been a problem was quickly sorted. The whole staff kept up that level of service. My room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the pillows and linen excellent. WiFi stayed stable. Housekeeping was thorough each day, bringing fresh towels and replenishing water bottles and toiletries. There was plenty of hot water, and the complimentary continental breakfast was very good. FORCA, the hotel restaurant, is a little pricey but worth trying for its excellent food and service. The international cuisine was authentic and served promptly. I had an extremely comfortable stay and will definitely choose The Compass again on my next Amman visit. Highly recommended.
