Aqaba Gulf Hotel

The place had a comfortable atmosphere, and the location was quiet and relaxing while still close to everything. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made sure all the details were right. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

The staff were really helpful and can arrange a sea trip or a transfer wherever you need to go. It's a good hotel, but there was a cigarette smell even in my non-smoking room, since people smoke everywhere, including inside the rooms.

The central location is the one good thing about this hotel. The price is cheap, but I'd rather pay more next time for trained staff and better door knobs. Most of the staff seemed unprofessional and untrained. They cleaned the room but forgot towels, and it turned out they had done that to our whole group. Room key cards stopped working across several rooms, so people had to go to reception to get them fixed. With older people and children in the group, waiting around wasn't easy. Both the room and bathroom knobs stuck, and I had to get maintenance to replace mine on the first day. Housekeeping knocked to ask about cleaning while my infant was sleeping. I asked them to come back later, but they returned five minutes later, knocked, and opened the door. I told them to leave. Then a housekeeping worker asked to fix my room's water boiler. I hadn't even used it, and the banging woke the baby, so I asked him to go away. I also went down to eat with the baby and asked the hostess for a baby chair, but she said they didn't have one. This place needs new management. It's a waste of a good location.

I couldn't put my crawling baby down on the floor during our stay. The crib they gave me had no mattress, just a large folded crib quilt instead, which could have caused suffocation. The bathroom handle was broken, and the room access card failed three times. Breakfast didn't have much variety. I had to call twice on several occasions before getting service through the information phone. Some employees were nice and wanted to help, but communication and management were poor, especially in how they dealt with customers. They knocked on my door twice in ten minutes to clean, waking my baby and disturbing us.
