Joar Beach Hotel

We’ve travelled with friends, and the Executive Suite has worked perfectly for us on all three of my stays. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, a living room with an L-shaped couch, a refrigerator, and a water kettle. The windows in the sea view rooms look out as shown in the pictures. The owner and staff have been courteous and welcoming every time. On my second visit, I left my favourite swimsuit and shirt in the closet. The owner saved them and returned them when I came back two months later. There’s no pool or parking garage, but the location makes it easy to walk around Aqaba, with shopping and restaurants nearby. JOar Beach Hotel is a good place to rest on the way to Petra or Wadi Rum, or before or after crossing the border. You can enjoy restaurants and shopping in the evening and go to South Beach for phenomenal snorkelling during the day. For check-in, use the Maain Street entrance. Coming in from King Hussein Street means going up one level to reach the lobby, which can be confusing on your first visit. Once you know the layout, that entrance is convenient too. I highly recommend the hotel.

The rates are very fair, and the staff are wonderful. It’s about a two-minute walk to the sea, and the hotel is clean, nicely furnished, and has very big rooms. You can find suites for 4-6 people here. One of the best hotels to try in Aqaba, highly recommended.

The manager is always happy to help and provide good service, and seems genuinely interested in guests’ wellbeing. Management is really good, the location is convenient, and the price is reasonable for one of the best hotels in the area. I highly recommend it.

Stores and restaurants are on the same block, and the hotel is close to everything. A taxi or Uber anywhere on the street shouldn’t cost more than 5 JOD. There’s a small dirt lot on the corner across from the hotel, but it’s usually full. The other choices are parking on the curb or using a free lot about a 10-minute walk away. My room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a good AC and a clean, convenient bathroom. There’s an elevator serving all six floors. For an extra 10 JOD I moved to a sea view room, which I recommend. The beach view from the fifth floor is beautiful. The service was well worth the room cost. My only complaint was that phone service and Wi-Fi were very weak on the fifth floor.
