Marina Plaza Hotel, Tala Bay

The staff were helpful and attentive throughout, and the private beach was a real highlight. Our room was clean and comfortable, with excellent restaurants and shops nearby. The area also offers great facilities and standout water activities, including jet skiing and the unusual Neptune Submarine experience. Marina Plaza Hotel sits in a quiet spot with an excellent view and a relaxing feel, away from the crowds. It's about a 25-minute drive from downtown Aqaba, the one drawback. If you're looking for tranquility, though, that distance can be a plus.

Tala Bay was new to us, and it's a great choice for a relaxing beach break. The marina is tucked away beside the property, so you'd never guess it was there from the main road. The beach is shared with the Grand Tala Bay Hotel next door, and it's a short walk past attractive shops and the marina. Snorkeling is good even near shore. We saw a lion fish by one of the jetties after someone tossed bread in, so watch out! We booked directly and got an excellent last-minute discount for three nights. Service was great, and we were upgraded to a sea view on arrival, which was a nice bonus. The beds were super comfortable, though the floor in our room was pretty sandy when we arrived and could have used more sweeping. There are three fairly shallow pools, including one for children, with morning entertainment for them in the form of gentle yoga stretches. The main restaurant has an excellent buffet breakfast and an expensive but very varied all-you-can-eat dinner. Near reception, the cafe/bar offers staples like spaghetti bolognese at very affordable prices. The reception area felt too small for the size of the hotel and number of guests, and it was always busy during our stay toward the end of October. Still, I highly recommend it. It's much more affordable than the Grand Tala and Marriott next door, while just as nice.

The resort was clean, organized, and easy to get around. I booked a beach-view chalet with the pool right behind it. It was beautiful and very clean, though some minor maintenance and small updates would help. Breakfast was good, not exceptional, but the view over the pool and beach made it enjoyable. A special thank you to Ms. Bayan Ziyad Atiyat, who was there for me by phone for 24 hours and helped whenever I needed assistance. She was professional, kind, and caring, and made everything easier and more comfortable. I'm grateful for her dedication and the hotel's hospitality.

The hotel is in a quiet, peaceful location, though it's somewhat far from the city center. Staff were polite and cooperative, the service was good, and breakfast offered a reasonable selection. The facilities add value and can be fully enjoyed. Rooms are acceptable and cleanliness was generally fine, but some areas need better attention and refurbishment to improve comfort. Overall, I had a positive experience, though the hotel would benefit from upgrades, modernization, and more consistent maintenance. It looked like some rooms were undergoing maintenance while I was there.
