What stays with you is the stillness, right in the middle of Wadi Rum, with an incredible view all around. There are plenty of ways to get out and explore the desert, and the staff take such good care of you. A once-in-a-lifetime kind of stay. Try to spend at least one night here.

Watching the stars from one of the bubble tents made this stay at Bubble Luxotel Wadi Rum feel unforgettable. The camp sits among the striking Wadi Rum scenery, and the quiet, almost magical setting is lovely for taking in the desert and night sky. The tents are a special way to experience the area. Staff were warm, capable, and helpful throughout, and made things comfortable. A memorable choice in Jordan if you want time to relax and enjoy the desert.

The setting is fantastic, and the restaurant serves very good food. Running a hotel in a place like this can't be simple, but everything felt smooth. One catch: if the previous guests have only just left your bubble, it can be unbearably hot when you arrive. The AC needs a good while to bring the temperature down. Still, I had a really nice time.

Don’t miss the stargazing with Hadi, and the 4x4 tour was wonderful too. Rahaf at reception was especially helpful, and service overall was very good. The rooms could use an upgrade. The hotel and meals were good, though neither was at a luxury or high-end level. A very unusual experience, and one worth having while in Jordan.

Dinner was a highlight, with plenty of tasty salads, meat, and desserts. Breakfast was more limited, especially for protein, with basically ham and eggs alongside bread, salads, and stir-fried zucchini. The desert views are beautiful for photos, but be careful about walking too far because the area is huge. At night it gets very dark, and the path lights were off, so I needed my phone flashlight to walk safely. The shuttle to the main road starts at 7:45 AM, while breakfast begins at 7:00, which makes an early departure a rush. The shuttle itself was late and just a truck, even when a larger group was checking out together. It was dirty, sandy, and messy, and they squeezed people in, making the ride uncomfortable. We also had a hard time communicating because the receptionist didn't speak English well. The whole arrangement was very bad. Our suite looked impressive from a distance, like glowing pearls across the desert, and check-in began at a counter by the main road before a driver took us into the resort. The suite was large, with three connected bubbles for the living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Once the AC cooled it down, the bedroom and living area were cozy. The private hot tub faced the desert, a nice spot for sunset or stars, but even at 38°C the water never seemed warm enough. There was an outdoor sofa, but our room was missing the hammock-style bed that other empty rooms had. The bathroom was disappointing. The shower stall was tiny, the glass door didn't close properly and kept bumping into me, and water got onto the floor. That may be why parts of the wooden floor looked tarnished. The toilet was completely open to the room, so we used the main toilet at reception instead. No toothbrush or toothpaste was provided, so bring your own. The scenery and unusual bubble setup make for a distinctive stay, but quite a few practical details need work.
