Sun City Camp

We had a fantastic stay, and the service lived up to what our good friends had told us when they recommended the camp. Haytham, the manager, was welcoming from the start and made sure early on that we’d have a great experience. The camp’s location was far enough into the desert for us to enjoy the setting, without being too far in. We loved the food, especially the Zarb, meat and vegetables cooked underground. We slept with the curtains open to take in the night sky and stayed warm in the cold desert weather. Sun City also gave us access to nearby activities: a camel ride, jeep tour, and amazing stargazing. The luxury bubble tents and wonderful service make this camp easy to recommend.

Mahmood was our guide throughout the stay and was incredibly helpful. Everyone on the staff was hands-on and always smiling. The Martian tent was spectacular, and the food was incredible. I’m so glad we chose to stay in the desert. I want to come back!

Seeing the moonrise and sunrise from bed was something else, especially since it was so cold outside. The tents are decent and have great panoramic views. The camp is also close to the tarmac road, which is handy if you have a 2 Wheel Drive car. Jeep tours cost about 20jod per person. The meals were a letdown for me and a couple of other guests I sat with. There were lots of choices and the buffet looked amazing, but the food quality was poor. The zerb was interesting to watch but not good to eat, and I confirmed that by ordering it from another restaurant the next day. Breakfast wasn’t exciting either. Drinks, including water, were kind of expensive and weren’t included with the meal.

The people were so welcoming, the food was amazing, and our bubble room was incredibly comfortable, well equipped, and luxurious. We went for a camel ride to watch the sunset and did stargazing too. It was the best day ever. Thanks!
