Hotel Route Inn Ageo

Quiet and clean, though a bit old. Fine for business or a solo trip, but I wouldn’t recommend it for couples.

Good value for a budget hotel in Ageo.

(2026-01) I was working in Kawajima-cho and couldn’t find a hotel nearby, so I stayed here. Despite the name Ageo, Okegawa Station is the closest. The front desk lady was friendly and helpful. My room felt a little old-fashioned, but it was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The communal bath shower was very powerful, so be mindful of other guests. There’s a Chinese restaurant right across the street for dinner. Other places are difficult to reach without a car. Walking isn’t impossible, but going alone on a winter night would be tough. A convenience store and drugstore are about a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was sufficient and tasty, and the price was reasonable. I’d stay here again if work brings me back.

The night front desk woman made a strong impression with her smile and service, and the man at the desk in the morning was polite and welcoming. This was a nice hotel, even if a little old. The rooms are dated but well kept, with more space than city hotels, and enough room to stretch out and soak in the tub. The large public bath was clean and roomy, with space for about eight people. Breakfast was delicious. The rice and carefully prepared side dishes stuck with me, and I even went back for more rice, which I don’t usually do. There’s free parking for about 12 cars. It’s around a 10-minute walk from Okegawa Station and Kita-Ageo Station. By the stations you’ll find izakayas, chain restaurants, and places that just serve meals. There’s also a famous sushi restaurant in Ageo. Even with an APA or Washington nearby, I’d personally pick this Route Inn.
