The buffet was mediocre, though the room size and service were okay, and the onsen was comfortable. They offer pickup from the mountain loop tourist bus, but they missed me when I arrived. The walk up is about 10 minutes without steps, so manageable. Overall, it felt like a generic, mass-market onsen resort.

The karaoke and onsen were good, and the rooms were spacious. But the staff only speak Japanese and didn’t seem very willing to help otherwise. Music plays throughout the hotel and can clearly be heard in the rooms until 11pm. There’s also a persistent smell like old, wet carpet. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby, and there are very few power sockets in the rooms. Getting into town by public transport is difficult, since the only option is a bus that runs about once an hour and stops at 7pm. This place seems better suited to fluent Japanese speakers who want to stay in and relax than to foreign visitors traveling by public transport.
