Konjakutei

The baths took all my stress away, and I hope I can visit again. This was my first ryokan and Onsen stay, at Konjyakutei, and it felt culturally and spiritually enriching. My Japanese host family helped translate, though I was glad I could communicate with my basic Japanese too. The staff were attentive, professional, and very friendly. We had beautifully prepared Japanese-style meals made with local ingredients in our own private dining hall. I loved resting in the traditional tatami room after using the on-site hot springs and the nearby rotenburo. The autumn leaves outside my room and the peaceful setting made this world-class ryokan feel especially memorable.

Dinner and breakfast were outstanding, and the service was superb. We had a spacious, comfortable room with a private onsen in a quiet spot. It made for a wonderfully relaxing stay.

The indoor onsen here is tiny, but you can walk 150m to their sister ryokan Harataki for an open-air bath with a waterfall view. The hospitality was the best I've had so far on my onsen trip this year. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the food was fresh, delicious, and very fancy ♥️

The public baths are small, though you can also use the open-air baths at the sister Hotel "Harataki." The staff were highly professional and showed Japanese "Omotenashi." The Japanese room felt luxurious for a reasonable price. Try the mouthwatering dinner at the restaurant over the river.
