Ikoinomura Hiroshima

After skiing at Osorakan Ski Resort, soaking in the hot springs was a real treat. We spent three nights here, and the meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared each day. The room looked out onto beautiful snowy scenery, and having a drying room for our ski gear was very handy.

The Wi-Fi showed a signal, but I couldn't connect. The front desk mentioned some kind of disconnection, though I suspect the router settings may have been the problem. If the connection had worked, I'd have given four stars. The foreign staff spoke Japanese well and were working hard, although they didn't understand when I asked for chilled sake. The room was fine, if the TV was on the small side. The dining room had fancy lighting, but its tables and chairs still felt like those of a traditional inn. Overall, the place reminded me of an old-style public lodging house.

The building is a little dated, though the price is still affordable. There’s a spacious public bath with a sauna. Just keep in mind that there aren’t many shops or convenience stores nearby.

The facilities were old and fairly basic, but clean, and I enjoyed staying here. I chose it for access to Osorakan Ski Resort, about a 25-minute drive away. 191 Highland is around 12 minutes by car. Glad I stayed.
