Amami Weekly House Nico Nico Nazeko-ten

For ferry access, the location is hard to beat. You can watch the ships dock from your room. The staff were very helpful, and I loved being able to keep my bicycle safely inside the lobby. That makes it a great option for bicycle tourists. I was very glad I chose to stay here.

I stayed here at the start and end of a really enjoyable bicycle trip around the island. The hotel is bicycle friendly, and bikes can be left to the side of the lobby. Its central location is a couple of blocks from the ferry terminal and about a kilometer from the town center. Amami Tourism Habu Center (snake museum) and Amami Museum are walkable to the north. My small single room had a bath and was good value; other room types are available, and many have good views. Staff were helpful and friendly, with some English speakers. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the 10th-floor restaurant. The third floor has a Japanese-style public bath with separate sections for men and women, and the men's bath has a sauna. The photo is of a ferry, taken from my room on the 9th floor.

We spent one night here before taking the ferry. The terminal is just a five-minute walk away, and the rooms were decent with everything we needed. There's also an onsen bath included, and men can use a sauna.

The harbor view was great, and breakfast was very good at ¥1100. Men have a shower.
