We had lunch at the hotel restaurant and tried Keihan. It's chicken soup served with shredded chicken, rice, thin strips of egg and mushrooms, then you pour the broth over everything. The ingredients are simple, but the way it's presented and the tradition behind it make a difference. Very tasty. The room was spacious and spotless, and the bathroom and toilet were immaculate. The toiletries were beautiful too.

A handy choice for the morning ferry to Naze, just an eight-minute walk from the port. Check-in was easy, our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We made use of the free hot bath and sauna upstairs on the top floor. Really good value.

Free, roomy parking and a nice view from the room were both welcome. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful and polite. There are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby too. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Amami-Oshima.

A walking track runs right outside, and restaurants are easy to get to from this well-located hotel. My room was quiet, clean and fresh, as you'd expect in a new hotel. There's also a public bath, cold soak and sauna on the 10F, plus free washer and dryer.

My single room was clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice view, and it felt very spacious for Japan. The sea view from the onsen or spa was really good. Laundry was free too, which was a plus.
