Hotel 2135

A note for drivers: there’s free parking on site, but you have to reserve it ahead of time. The route to the car park is VERY narrow, around 2m, so if you’re not confident behind the wheel, the car park behind the hotel costs 500 yen for 24h. My room was clean and quite spacious, including the bathroom. It was a tad dark, but otherwise just right. Breakfast was included and surprisingly good, with lots of dishes.

The building doesn’t make much of an impression from outside, but the room was huge by Japanese standards, clean, and comfortable. Reception were very helpful. Best of all, chef Nobu-san from Shin Creative Dining made the most delicious breakfast.

I stayed in the annex. For a business hotel, the room was spacious and there were no particular inconveniences. The service was polite and not bad. I chose breakfast, but they seemed busy and brought many things quickly, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I thought it was a good place to stay. I’ll stay again if I get the chance.

I stayed here for an extended period for work, and I didn’t include breakfast, so I can’t comment on the food. I was in the annex, where there was a fishy smell from the entrance through the hallway. It might be fine for people who don’t mind strong smells, but I couldn’t stand it. My company booked the hotel, so I stayed without hesitation. My room had a double bed, desk, and chair. The chair creaked when I sat down and felt scary. The desk had the basic items, a kettle, glass, and teacup, but no mirror. The closet was useful, though it had an unnecessarily large office-style air conditioner. The slippers were thin and disposable. There was a partition between the bathroom and toilet, and obvious black mold around the sink faucet. It came off with toothpaste and the provided toothbrush, so perhaps the room wasn’t used very often. The towels were either rental or marked with a magic marker. They’re fine if you like stiff cotton towels. The bathroom water temperature kept switching between hot and warm, and you could get burned if you weren’t careful. The toilet paper was double-layered, and there was a washlet. Cleaning was done every three days, and the floor had thin carpet. Pajamas were available, but only in men’s size L. The only other option was a wraparound type that looked like old hospital pajamas. Laundry cost 1,100 yen per load. The laundromat washing machines didn’t have a cleaning function, and powdered detergent was provided. Washing and drying could take two to three hours or more. I’m not sure whether the machines were broken. I stayed because my company chose the hotel, but I wouldn’t stay again.
