Hotel JAL City Aomori

Our room looked out onto the street, and watching snow fall over the city at night was beautiful. We had twin beds, and the room was spacious by Japan standards. The hotel is central, the staff were nice, and breakfast was included with loads of options. They also lent us umbrellas to keep the snow off. This is the second JAL hotel I’ve used, and they’ve both been excellent value.

Breakfast was better than I expected, with Japanese and Western choices. The local dishes, grilled fish, and warm comfort food stood out, and it was a nice start to the day. The room was clean, quiet, and well kept. It wasn’t huge, but it worked well, with a comfortable bed, good water pressure, and enough space to open suitcases. The heating worked properly, which mattered in winter. Service was friendly and efficient. Check-in and check-out were quick, and the staff were polite and helpful when we asked about the area. The location is handy for Aomori Station, restaurants, shops, and bus stops, so it’s easy to get around without a car. A comfortable, reliable stay with no complaints. I’d come back.

I loved the breakfast, especially the many Japanese options. I don’t look for Western food when I’m in Japan. The room was clean, comfortable, and larger than most. I enjoyed sitting in the chair in the morning with a cup of hojicha, looking out at the snow-covered houses. The usual Japanese amenities were there, too. I stayed two nights. The hotel is central, close to everything I needed and walkable from the train station. Heavy snow might make that walk difficult, but I managed. I enjoyed my stay and hope to return for the festival. Highly recommend.

The room for three was on the compact side, since larger rooms for three weren’t available. Still, the bedroom and bathroom were bright and clean, with good bedding and air conditioning. Breakfast had lots of local choices, and the staff were very helpful. It’s a good hotel for its price range, with transport, shops, and dining all within walking distance.
