Super Hotel Asahikawa

I drafted this after visiting three years ago and only just remembered to post it. My family enjoyed the in-house onsen, and the front desk staff greeted guests as they arrived and left, which was nice to see. The buffet breakfast was delicious Japanese-style food, with rice and a selection of proteins and vegetables, plus bread for anyone who found rice too heavy. The room was small by any standard, but that didn't bother us since we weren't staying long. Parking was outdoors and off-site, across the park. Clearing the overnight snow off our rental car the next day was a new experience. We miss Hokkaido, and I remember this hotel fondly.

The public bath was comfortable, with showers for four and a small bath about the same size. The staff seemed a little cold, perhaps because I'm a foreigner. The room pillows were uncomfortable and quite high even for me at 6'2", though there's a large selection of extra pillows in the lobby. For a basic hotel, it felt a bit overpriced. Tickets bought at the hotel cost 25% more than online. If you buy online and catch the staff in a good mood, I think it could be a good hotel. All in all, a fair experience.

Breakfast was very nice, with delicious pastries, fresh Hokkaido milk, juices, and other Japanese foods. The service, rooms, and Onsen are great too. It's 400m from Aeon mall. This was already my second stay, and I'll come back again.

The beds are extremely comfortable, easily better than those at many pricier places. Breakfast was delicious and carefully prepared with health in mind. The onsen is small but feels luxurious. For its price, Super Hotel has the best quality-to-price ratio, without a doubt.
