Hotel Parens Onoya

The food was a real highlight. At the traditional Japanese dinner, the waiter remembered our preferences and made small adjustments for the evening. The buffet breakfast had lots of choices, including Kyushu-style rice soup that I hadn’t seen at other hotels. We also tried the traditional breakfast, but didn’t think it was worth it and preferred the buffet. There’s a snack bar in the lobby with very good green tea latte, and my son loved the toy corner. Parking is just across from the hotel. We stayed in three room types: a newly refurbished room with a private onsen, another refurbished one without a private onsen, and a very old Western-style room without one. They were all clean, including the older room, but the difference was huge since we stayed in the refurbished room first and the old one last. I’d suggest continuing to update the remaining rooms, at least the toilets, bathrooms, and carpets. If the price difference isn’t much, book a refurbished room. We had a very good experience.

Miss Iwanaga was so sweet and really made our stay better. We were treated with real class and excellent customer service from the greeting through to the end of our visit. I had a great experience here and hope to return.

Our suite was on the top floor and had its own onsen. The room was clean, with luxurious interiors and amenities. They’d left green tea, drip coffee, hot drinking water, and snacks for us. Hotel staff were very friendly and escorted us to the room after our reservation, which we’d made several months earlier. There are also indoor and outdoor onsens on the first floor, plus a guest lounge by reception for coffee and tea. Dinner was delicious. We love sashimi and had pre-ordered an extra set for just 3000 yen. We highly recommend Hotel Parens Onoya!

The breakfast buffet on day two was delicious and had a good variety. The hotel itself feels cozy and welcoming, even if it isn’t the most luxurious. The onsen is small, but it’s a peaceful break from everyday life, and the older feel struck me as charming and historic. The food was salty, though full of flavor. ♨️ The waitress with glasses at the restaurant was really friendly. 👍🏻
