For anyone needing a place to stay around ASO, this hotel is a real lifesaver. It sits up in the hills, like many nearby hotels, but the kind owner can arrange a pickup if you let them know when you’ll arrive. There’s also a large public bath where you can unwind quickly.
It was okay.
Business travelers will find the spacious parking handy. The pension is quiet and clean, with Wi-Fi, and the dining room works for desk work or having lunch.
The area around the guesthouse was lovely for walks, with forest trails, and it was peaceful, clean, and comfortable inside too. The owner was really friendly, and the place had a relaxing feel. Breakfast wasn't included, but Kosugi Resort Coffee is nearby and had tasty breakfast and great bread. I really liked staying here.
I regretted booking so quickly. The bedding was dirty when I arrived, and I considered cancelling one of my two nights, but the cancellation fee put me off. I changed the bedding myself and stayed both nights. The rest of my week-long Kyushu trip went fine, which made this stay, especially given the rating, all the more disappointing.
