Being so close to the forest makes the nights wonderfully quiet, and the stars are beautiful. It’s also easy to reach everyday shops: supermarkets, convenience stores, and hardware stores are all within a five-minute drive. The lane leading to the guesthouse is narrow, but visibility is good and driving it is straightforward. The place blends a traditional homestay feel with modern touches, and gives you a taste of rural Japanese life.
The accommodation site won’t load from a non-Japanese IP address, so I’d suggest booking through Rakuten Travel.
It’s a warm, thoughtful place, with little touches that show how much care the owner puts in. The traditional architecture and all the amenities make it easy to recommend. I only wish the floor and mattress were a bit thicker and softer.
The location is really good, and the house itself is well built. My only issue was getting back and forth after shopping at night. There are absolutely no streetlights nearby, so it’s a bit difficult.
The view is superb, and it’s a great house.
