Atami FUFU

The spacious room had its own private onsen, and after a soak I felt like a newborn baby. From the moment I arrived, I felt peaceful and relaxed. The staff were friendly and really helpful too. I enjoyed my time there. Thank you, team fufu Atami 💝🥰🥰

I didn't know the price before staying at Fufu Atami, but for 200,000 JPY, the experience didn't feel worth it to me. The room's private bath was nice, while the public onsen was mediocre. Dinner disappointed me too: there was sand in the vegetables, and the soup had a faint fishy taste. The place felt commercialized and short on warmth, and with so many guests around, privacy was limited because I often crossed paths with others. I've stayed at top-tier kaiseki ryokans, and Fufu felt nowhere near that level. For the same money, I'd rather stay at a hotel like the Four Seasons and go out for high-quality meals. That would offer better value and a better experience.

The room was quiet, clean, modern, and had a special feel, and the amenities were really good. Dinner was above average, though breakfast fell below it. There was good privacy inside, even with the hotel itself busy with lots of guests. Service felt below average compared with a traditional Ryokan, and the place is so overpriced.

We've stayed at small, high-class hotels and resorts before, and Fufu Atami is one of our favorites. It's small but classic, high-end yet cost-efficient, and the live chef serving the food was particularly excellent.
