Hotel Grand Bach Atami Crescendo

Riku took great care of us throughout our stay, arranging meal accommodations for dinner and even sharing Kyoto recommendations. The service was perfect from beginning to end. Our room at Grand Bach Atami was huge and extremely clean, with a roomy lounge area and two baths, one indoors and one outside. We had a fantastic time and would love to return on our next trip to Japan.

The staff's hospitality was the best part for me. The front desk gentleman and the lounge lady on the evenings of 8/30-31 were incredibly kind, thank you. I had a great two-night stay at Grand Bach, with beautiful views from the room, lounge, and restaurant, especially at dusk and dawn. The in-room onsen bath and shared public bath were both really nice. The food was outstanding. Dinner was genuinely good French fine dining, unlike plenty of bad versions I've had before. Breakfast had amazing house-made curry and mean wild game sausages. Just know there's no traditional feel to the hotel, so look elsewhere if that's what you're after. One small gripe: no desk in the room, which was inconvenient. A small work desk would be worth adding. I'd like to come back for the fireworks, hopefully soon!

The meals were the standout for me. One dinner ended with a wasabi macaron, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The staff were thoughtful and kind, the room had everything we needed and more, and the onsen was deeply relaxing with incredible views. You can get lunch at the hotel, and there are a few places within walking distance, though the hill is steep. A taxi from the train station took about 10 minutes and was easy to arrange. I’d happily stay again, and wish I’d booked longer.

The onsen and landscaped grounds gave us a peaceful place to unwind, and the facilities were in excellent shape. Meals were another highlight, with fresh local ingredients prepared beautifully. Our room was spacious and stylish, with striking ocean views, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to help from the moment we arrived. It’s definitely a splurge, but we felt the stay was worth the cost for the service, food, and comfort.
