Lectore Atami Momoyama (TKP Hotels & Resorts)

There's a shortcut from Atami Station that's about 150meter away, but it means tackling a long flight of stairs. The mapped route avoids that flight, though you still walk uphill for about 100 meters. The hotel has no elevator, and our room on the 3rd floor had a nice view, thank God. We ended up going out only once a day, since we didn't want to keep making the trip back and forth.

The terrace had a great view of Atami Castle, the train station, and the sea. Some guests smoked there, though, and I hope the hotel adds a smoking corner so nonsmokers can enjoy it too. We stayed knowing there was no elevator, and the stairs weren't as bad as I expected. There are lots of stairs. The free shuttle from Atami Sta. needs to be reserved. Walking from the station takes just a few minutes uphill, but I'd recommend the shuttle if you have luggage. The room was fine for sleeping and resting, but the carpet was stained and quite dirty. The Onsen was too hot for us, and 45mins was enough. I also think people in other buildings might be able to see into the baths.

I came for a quick day trip and had a great time. The private rooftop Onsen was quiet and felt very private, and I spent about an hour there after getting 30 minutes of work done peacefully in the room. Having a real room for the day and access to the rooftop area was nice, and the price felt well worth it. The staff were kind and professional. I didn't have luggage, so I walked straight from Atami station. It was uphill, with only stairs and no elevator in the hotel, but nowhere near as bad as other reviews made it sound. It was exactly what I expected, a 10/10 experience.

The rooms were great, and the hotel itself was alright, but getting there was a pain. It's uphill from the station, while the city is downhill from it. There’s no elevator, so even reaching the lobby means carrying your bags up three floors. If your room is higher up, you could be hauling them up around seven floors, which is completely unacceptable.
