The room was on the small side, but good value and pretty much what you’d expect. Breakfast offered both Japanese and Western options, and there were sports jersey displays on the first floor. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful, with some English spoken. It’s worth stopping by if you have a car. Getting here by bus can be inconvenient.

Izumoan The hotel is clean enough, though a little below Japanese standards, and there’s nothing particularly special about it. For one night it’s fine. I’d rate it a solid 6 out of 10. What makes the location handy is its proximity to one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in Japan. Search for Izumoan if you want somewhere to eat. Go early because there may be a queue, and try the onion soup with udon noodles. It’s about a 12 minute walk from the hotel, and you won’t regret it.

It’s a budget place that’s fairly handy if you’re traveling by car, at least compared with other hotel locations on the island. A convenience store and pharmacy are within walking distance, and some nice local restaurants are a short drive away. I wouldn’t recommend it for a family trip if you need to bathe your kids. The facilities aren’t set up for that.

The room is huge for the price, and it’s cheap. The hotel seems like it may have been more of a training camp before, but it’s definitely operating as a hotel now. Sports fans might find the place exciting. The restaurants are all a bit of a walk, around 10 minutes away.
