The studio-style rooms were clean and well equipped, and having a space where we could bring our dog meant the whole family could relax surrounded by nature. The BBQ facilities were easy to use and made the stay feel like a real escape. For sauna fans, the private barrel sauna’s temperature and humidity were just right, and the open-air bath felt refreshing and spacious. One short stay wasn’t enough. It’s a lovely resort, and I’d like to come back for several nights. I’ll definitely stay again.
I was excited to stay here with my dog, but the experience was awful. There was feces in the garden as soon as we arrived, likely left by the previous guest’s dog. The extra mattress smelled terrible and was soaked with dog urine when I unfolded it. The hair dryer sparked, so I couldn’t use it, the balcony screen door was torn up, and the footbath tub was too dirty to use. The condiment containers were empty. I called customer service and waited, but nobody got back to me. We paid quite a lot for a stay over Obon, and I’ve never felt so sick at a hotel. I’ll never use this place again.
It was a really cold day, but the inner balcony meant we could still eat dinner without a problem. I also slept in bed with my dog, which made the stay comfortable. It was a shame that Aladdin didn’t respond when I pressed the remote, but we still had a fun trip to Awaji Island.
There were good and bad points, much like other people have said. If you’re unsure about how to get into the room, contact the person handling the arrangements through the website. They reply courteously. The outdoor BBQ grill isn’t available, though there is a small grill on the terrace table. A regular hot plate might work better. The terrace lantern, condiments, indoor lights, and clock all run on batteries or are rechargeable, and none of them worked. There’s quite a bit of road traffic and airplane noise at night, and the ice maker can be heard from the bedroom all night. The floors were properly cleaned, but there were layers of dust on the bedroom curtains and air conditioner. The cleaning staff seem to love white adhesive tape. The outdoor sandals are very small. Please be considerate of neighbors when going to and from the sauna, and at least cut back the weeds around the footbath. Awaji Island accommodation has become more expensive in recent years, while many places haven’t improved much, judging by other posts. For the usage fee, this felt overpriced.
This was exactly the dog-friendly resort near Osaka I’d been looking for. My female Akita, Kana, is a large breed, and there aren’t many places where she can stay. Here she had a spacious garden and was thrilled to run around. The facilities were new, clean, well equipped, and comfortable, and the place felt like home. I spent about five hours enjoying the barrel sauna, self-louvering, and cold bath. There was plenty of ice, so I had no complaints about being prepared. Breakfast on the sundeck overlooking the ocean felt very elegant. All the amenities were high quality. A few small requests: a fan for after the sauna, a little toaster oven for toast, and clearer instructions for the Nespresso machine. It has a milk tank and seemed like it could make lattes, but the manual didn’t mention that. When I tried, the cleaning light came on and I couldn’t use it. I stayed one night this time, but would like to come back for longer.
