I had a good experience.

The room was in poor shape and looked like it hadn’t had a proper clean in a year or two. The washing machine was filthy, its lint tray was full, the sink smelled bad, and both the exhaust fan and range hood were covered in dust. There was dust on the hairdryer and limescale on the terrace and toilet. The terrace smelled of moss and the glass was stained. One light was broken, and the freezer was so packed with snow there was no room to store anything. The bathroom shower-head hook kept coming off and had to be put back by hand. With no heating, I imagine it would be cold in winter. One air conditioner was already broken at check-in. After three hours of trying to sort it out, it still wasn’t fixed, so for the two-night stay only the living-room unit worked and the room was uncomfortable. Its dust filter was covered in dust too. There was no door or even a curtain for the room. The nearest supermarket closes at 10 PM, and it’s the only one nearby, so there’s nowhere to shop late. The stairs are hard to manage, especially for women with luggage, even though it’s only one floor up. We learned after booking that a floor-level option was available. The listing should explain the difference between the two rooms.

My family and I stayed in room B on the 2nd floor. The location is great, with a laundromat and a supermarket or convenience store nearby. Tomonaga Bread, Cattleya Soy Sauce, and Asami Shrine are also close. Yume Town and Rokusei Cold Noodles seem walkable, though there are a lot of red-light districts along the ocean-side route, so women should be careful at night. It was good value for money, but the room had some serious problems. The room uses a lockbox, which was a first for us. There was no light at the entrance, and I worried about security because the entrance key may be shared and used by that day’s guest. At the top of the stairs there’s only a roller blind, no door, and it was cold. I wish they’d put a lock there instead of on the bathroom door. The shower room has a curtain, so it’s hard to stop water escaping. The shower head was broken and unstable. Water seemed to have leaked as soon as we arrived, damaging the walls and wooden entrance, which was held down with duct tape. I think the changing room should be turned into a shower room with a proper door. I let the kids go to bed without showering because it was too much for them. The bath mat wasn’t useful, and a larger towel would work better. If there aren’t enough towels to use as mats, they should buy some at Daiso or Seria. The check-in tablet was frightening too. The room was locked and could only be opened by phone, but when I did that, it showed an unfamiliar foreign guest name. I thought we had the wrong room. Sorry for the harsh rating.

We spent two nights in room B upstairs. I’d read that the first-floor rooms could be noisy, so I tried to keep my own noise down, but we could still hear voices and sounds from downstairs quite clearly. Since there’s only a shower, a nearby public bath is a good option. A map of the public baths would be helpful. The location was convenient, especially for finding food and drinks.
