The owner was friendly, and the hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. There’s a 7-Eleven nearby if you want an early breakfast. The towel charge seemed odd, as other guests have mentioned, but otherwise we had no complaints.

The soundproofing was terrible. We could hear the neighbor snoring at 10 pm, then people started using the public sink just outside our room from 4:30 in the morning. Getting good sleep here was a long shot. We had to rent towels, and after the first night someone came into our room and took one used towel without telling us. We thought we were renting the towels, not paying 100 yen for each use. Check-in was at 4 pm and checkout at 9 am. This was the worst stay of our trip in Hokkaido. It was our first minshuku experience, and probably our last.

The women who own and run the guesthouse (minshuku) were fabulous, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It’s also a perfect base for exploring Daisetsu-zan National Park. I couldn’t recommend staying here more.

It looks brand new, though it dates to 2015. The rates were reasonable, and the central location worked well. Staff were kind, helpful, and accommodating. There’s DIY laundry, clean showers, a guest refrigerator, and free WiFi. A sitting area has a kettle, with free tea and coffee.

Three lovely girls run this place. Furano and all of Daisetsuzan National Park are just a short bike ride away.
