Breakfast came with a choice of curry or bread. It tasted good, though I would've liked a few more topping options for the corn soup and curry. I booked the "Discounted Plan," which specified that the room would be dim. An air conditioner unit sits outside the window, so it seems like sunlight doesn't get in easily, but that didn't bother me.

The hotel name has changed since I last stayed here, 20 years ago. There was scaffolding outside, so renovations seemed to be underway. I parked in the distant lot at the back and entered from the back entrance on the first basement floor. I'd been away so long that I couldn't find my way to the front desk and was wandering around. A male staff member dressed as a chef kindly took the time to show me the way, which I really appreciated. The front desk staff, though, came across as businesslike and impersonal, with no sense of hospitality. Even a small expression of thanks for choosing the hotel would make a difference. If guests feel the old facilities are being carefully maintained, they can grow attached to the place. As a hotel representing Date, good service would also leave a better impression of the town. Still, this person was working at the desk until late at night. Keep up the good work.

I had a comfortable stay, although the mold in the bathroom did bother me a little.
