The hosts are lovely and helpful, especially if you need suggestions for things to do nearby. The house is beautiful, and the surrounding area is welcoming and scenic. People here felt quite different from those in Tokyo, perhaps because they don't see many visitors from outside Japan. For a trip where you want both city and nature, this is a great option. I'd recommend it if you want a change of pace while visiting Japan.

Yui Valley has useful information about nearby places to visit, from village restaurants and spots in Fujieda to a hike through green tea fields, the local onsen, bamboo workshops with Dai, and Shizuoka city. The owner, Daisuke, is warm and friendly, and will even drive guests to places for a very reasonable fee. It's a lovely choice for a quiet village stay, a break from busy Tokyo, or visits to people in Fujieda or Shizuoka. I wanted to share here on Google how great Daisuke and Yui Valley are. There are also many more reviews on AirBNB.

We loved staying in this traditional house. It's old and cozy, very clean, and has all the comforts we needed: shower, toilet, hot water, wifi, kitchen, and fridge. The host was unbelievably kind, and everything felt just right. The rural setting is lovely, with a river right beside the house and beautiful hiking routes in the jungle. I hope we can come back someday ❤️

The house felt peaceful in a way that's hard to put into words, and it was immaculate, clean, and cozy. Hila and Dai are honest, hardworking hosts who made me feel like I was visiting friends. They shared lots of ideas for the area, the hiking is amazing, and they cook really well. It's in a small traditional farming village, surrounded by mountains, bamboo woods, green tea fields, and soothing forest sounds. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm nearby, and highly recommend it.

Such a beautiful traditional house, and the hosts made us feel completely welcome. They were very helpful, including arranging inexpensive rides to and from the nearest station, Yaizu. It was a lovely break from the cities. We ordered breakfast and it was delicious, presented beautifully too. I can't praise it enough.
