There's plenty of room for a big family or group, with three bedrooms that each have two queen beds and futons in the living room. The back balcony is the highlight, with paddy fields and Mt. Fuji in the distance. The spacious house is easy to find, though the access road is narrow, and the turn into the side lane can be awkward in a big car like an Alphard. It has a washing machine with dryer, gas stove, microwave, oven, outdoor BBQ grill, electric BBQ grill, water kettle, and the basic amenities for a comfortable stay.

The tatami room was our favorite spot to lounge. Its bean bags were super comfortable, and the view of majestic Mt Fuji at sunrise was lovely. Upstairs, both bedrooms had big windows facing the mountain, with two single beds in one and two double beds in the other. The modern kitchen and dining area and spacious living room worked well for our group of four. We stayed two nights in late February, when it was very cold, sometimes down to -7°C, so we were thankful for the heaters. There are bikes to ride around on, but remember there are local residents nearby, so keep noise down early in the morning and at night. We really enjoyed this villa and hope to return soon.

The balcony photos are the best part. Check the instruction folder for how to get the water heater working. This clean, fairly modern farmhouse has two bedrooms and a tatami room, plus spare foldable beds, so eight people can sleep comfortably. There are two parking spaces and four bikes, and the neighbours are quiet. The Waterfalls are less than a 10-minute drive away, though there's no bus nearby. It's quite pricey, but works out as good value for a large group.
