Kawaguchiko Hotel New Century

The area is quiet, partly because there aren't many stores nearby. That suited us, though we recommend having some snacks ready for the night, as we did. The bathroom also doesn't have a heater. Still, we were very happy with the stay and would consider this hotel again on our next trip to Kawaguchiko. My wife and I came here for a short honeymoon and felt we'd found one of the best hotels in the area. Our traditional Japanese-style room was spacious, well equipped, and had a clear view of Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji. Sleeping on tatami was a memorable experience. More amenities were available to pick up at the front desk. The station pickup and drop-off were complimentary, and they gave us a discount for a nearby park. The service from boarding the pickup bus through our ride after check-out was priceless. A lovely bonus was the complimentary wedding gift, thank you 😁

We woke to a direct, perfect view of Mount Fuji from our room, something we'll never forget. The onsens were fantastic. There are two kinds, one with a Fuji view and another with a jet stream, and they alternate for men and women. We often had them to ourselves. The staff made us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived, with incredible attention to detail. They run a free shuttle and will even take you to local attractions, working around your schedule. Their advice also helped us optimize our sightseeing itinerary. Dinner and breakfast were both stellar, with delicious food and a huge variety that changed over our two-night stay. We loved the rice bowl. The dining room service was especially warm and memorable, adding to the authentic Japanese experience. This was our best hotel experience ever, a 20 out of 10. We can't recommend it enough.

The kaiseki dinner was delicious and beautifully presented, and the onsen made the stay even more relaxing. Our ryokan-style room looked out toward Mount Fuji, a breathtaking sight to wake up to. Staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, making everything feel warm and personal. For everything included, the price was surprisingly modest. Without a doubt, this was one of the most beautiful moments of my trip. My stay at Kawaguchiko Hotel New Century was truly unforgettable.

The hotel is a little old, but it has a lot of warmth and charm. Our room was spacious and spotless, with all the amenities we needed, including yukatas. Guests can use two private onsens, which made it even more relaxing. Even though we booked the cheapest room, the staff surprised us with a lovely gift for our wedding anniversary, and the view with Mt. Fuji in the background was magical. They went out of their way for us throughout the trip. They picked us up at Kawaguchiko Station, drove us to the laundry at night, and offered to collect us later. When we checked out, they took us to the bike rental shop, picked us up afterward, and drove us to the station. Mr. Katsumata and his team really show top-notch Japanese hospitality. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel New Century and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kawaguchiko.
