Machi no Hotel

We were cold, damp, and unhappy with the room. It wasn’t cleaned properly, the duvet felt damp and unwashed, and the air conditioning was very loud and didn’t work properly. I slept in my jumper and socks and was still cold. The hallway was very dirty, and the shoe room hadn’t been swept. The toilets were clean, but there’s no lift and there are a lot of steps. We left first thing in the morning for another nearby hotel. We’d booked three nights and asked for a refund, but weren’t refunded for the remaining two. Not happy.

We booked 3 nights and left after the first because the hotel was really bad. The room was dirty and VERY cold. The air conditioning was loud, kept switching off, and didn’t work properly, so we hardly slept. The facilities were poor, and the hotel felt run down. The owner wasn’t interested, and we weren’t given a refund. I don’t often leave reviews, but I had to this time.

There was enough room to leave both of our large suitcases open, and after climbing Mt. Fuji we could spread out our clothes to dry. The hotel is near Gekkouji station, with easy access to Fuji-san station.

The location was quiet, with few tourists around, though the area felt deserted in the evening and the food and drink places closed early. We had a very pleasant two-night stay. The staff were welcoming, and our spacious room and bathroom were clean. The futons, blankets, and pillows were clean and had no smell. They supplied lots of essentials, including green tea and premium coffee, while skincare and shower samples were available to pick up at the counter. The one thing I didn't like was having to climb stairs to reach the room.
