C103 Clarice Hakata

The bed was on the hard side, though I’d seen that in other reviews before booking, and I still slept fine every night. As a solo traveler, I found the room just the right size. Hakata Station is a bit of a walk, but it’s manageable, with several conbinis along the way for picking up dinner on the way back. I was satisfied with my stay.

The room was spacious and the location was decent, but there was a whole family of cockroaches under the stove. It also stayed strangely warm, even with the air conditioner blasting. We were two people in a room on the top floor.

I left in the middle of the night without staying. The water in my room stopped working, so I couldn’t bathe or use the toilet. When I called the emergency number, I got a vague answer and no help from the person in charge. They said it couldn’t be fixed until after 10am the next morning. Cockroaches also came out of the drains, which was awful. There were extermination products throughout the building, and it didn’t feel clean. The coin laundry on the first floor was broken, took my money, and I wasn’t refunded. Finding the entrance was difficult, and at night it was pitch black outside. I was on the fifth floor, and the outside stairs had no lights either, so I needed a flashlight.

The location was good and the room was clean, but they only provided two towels, and those cost extra. There’s no elevator, so lugging bags up and down the stairs was really difficult.
