Canal City Fukuoka Washington Hotel

The location is the one real plus, but it wasn't enough to make this worthwhile. The hotel felt old and not suited to children, and they wouldn't try to meet our request for a non-smoking room, even though we had a baby. We left and went to Grand Hyatt instead. Save your time and money and stay elsewhere.

The location is easily the best thing about this place. The hotel feels old, and the amenities are limited and not very good. The room size was just okay, neither roomy nor unbearably tiny. WiFi was so poor that YouTube wouldn't play smoothly.

The rooms were clean and a comfortable size, and the service was excellent. It also seemed like quite a few staff members spoke different languages. Being inside Canal City is convenient, though the train stations are some distance away.

Full Full, the famous local bakery, is next door and makes a great breakfast option. The direct link to Canal City is handy for shopping and places to eat, especially ramen stadium, and Hakata station is within walking distance, so transit should be convenient. I drove and paid around $15 a day for parking, with in-and-out access. The hotel's laundry machines are too small unless you're only washing one day's clothes for two people. A 24-hour coin laundry is a two-minute walk away and is better for a family group. The hotel itself is dated and has few amenities, but the location is hard to beat in Fukuoka. It was a good, no-frills stay at a reasonable price.
