Daiwa Roynet Hotel Hakata - Gion

I booked a non-smoking room for my family, including our baby, but was sent to a smoking room after staff said none were available. When I asked to switch, they told me to take any complaint to Klook. I asked to speak to a manager, and only then did they offer a non-smoking room. They still wouldn’t acknowledge that this was their problem. Two staff members had said there were no non-smoking rooms, so I felt they were lying. The person on the right in the photo is the one who told me to complain to Klook. This was the worst experience I’ve had at a Japanese hotel.

There are lots of restaurants nearby, and a Family convenience store right across the street. My room was clean and fairly spacious for a Japanese hotel. The location is excellent, about 100 meters from Exit 3 of Gion subway station. I had a good stay while visiting the Hakata region.

A consistently good price for such a convenient spot. Gion station is a one-minute walk away, and Hakata station takes about ten minutes on foot.

The staff were polite and efficient. It’s an easy train ride to the airport, and the main entertainment and shopping area in Fukuoka is about a ten-minute walk away. I stayed in January, so this review is a bit late, but it was a decent business hotel.
