The two nights here were just perfect. Check-in was easy, and the staff were great even though my Japanese is pretty limited. The room was cleaner and in better shape than I expected, with no odd smells. It was also more spacious than I’d pictured for a standard single, and had a fancy glass, capsule-like shower room. I asked for a higher floor with a good view and they gave me the 10th, the top floor. There’s a small restaurant in the lobby. Late at night, around 23:00, I was looking for hot water for instant noodles and a microwave for conbini snacks. Kawaguchi, a manager, was working on her laptop and helped with my selfish request without a fuss. That extra kindness and professionalism nearly brought me to tears. This is probably my favorite hotel in Fukuoka so far. Glad I never believed the bad reviews, lol.

The location was good and the room was spotless. The extra tax was a surprise, though, even after paying through Booking or Agoda.
The staff are friendly, and for the price the location is amazing. But I'm here now, and I won't stay again. I can hear everything through the walls, including people in the hallway and the ice machine and microwave being used every few minutes. Guests are extremely loud even after midnight and don't seem to consider others. It feels like a dormitory, and I've stayed in quieter capsule hotels in Japan. Some of the sounds are things nobody needs to hear, which makes the place feel even cheaper.
EN HOTEL is right across from Canal City shopping area, with Hakata station about a 10-minute walk away, so it's handy for exploring central Fukuoka. The rooms are on the small side, as you'd expect for this kind of accommodation in Japan, but mine was cozy and affordable. I slept well, enjoyed the hotel's many amenities, and would recommend it for either business or personal travel.
The room was clean, and I liked having YouTube and streaming services on the TV. I went in expecting a small room, weak control over the AC, and budget amenities for what I paid, so most of it left me pleasantly surprised. The bathroom smell was the real shock. It smelled like sewage the whole stay, especially around midnight, and I nearly threw up. I never saw the cafe open. I can't tell whether it was closed for good or I just missed its hours.
