The shared kitchen and common room were very agreeable, and the staff were really nice. For a guesthouse in Fukuoka, this was the best value I could find. I stayed five days in a shared room and didn't feel I was missing privacy. I only interacted with one of my roommates; the others stayed tucked away in their beds. Most people seemed to be there for one or two nights. There are some downsides. With a shared room, I worried about making noise when I came back late. Luckily, there's a shared bathroom on the first floor as well as the ones in the rooms. The floor under the beds was noticeably dusty. I guess it's hard to clean thoroughly between guests when the room is always occupied. I also noticed a moldy smell near the wall when I lay down. I'm not sure if it came from the bed wood, wall, or floor, but it was annoying. I'd still recommend it for a few days in Fukuoka if you don't mind being far from Tenjin and Hakata.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a hostel with the usual facilities, and laundry was free. There's roof access for drying clothes, plus a glamping tent up there where you can relax. The location is great, about a 6-minute walk from the better of the two subway lines, then just a few stops to the city center. I liked the area so much that I found an apartment nearby. There are loads of restaurants, pubs, and ramen places within at most a 25-minute walk, and supermarkets and convenience stores are within six minutes. Enjoy your stay!

The bunks were comfortable for the price, and I liked having an outlet at each bed. The place was clean, the staff could speak Japanese and English, and the station was nearby. I was happy with my two-night stay at Guest House Hokorobi. The shower inside the dorm was the main drawback: it felt short on privacy, and the tiny bathroom had nowhere to hang clothes.

There’s a kitchen and a room where you can chat with other backpackers, as well as nice dorms. Finding the place can be tricky since the building looks like an ordinary apartment block. Bathrooms don’t come with things like towels or shampoo. Checkout is flexible: you can leave whenever by dropping off your own key.

The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Staff were nice too, and taught me a few words in Japanese. The front door had the best padlock ever, so I felt very secure, 10/10.
