Hotel New Gaea Yakuin

The location is excellent, and the place seemed clean. The rooms have plenty of space, and I do recommend the hotel. A couple of small things could be better: the dryer costs 100 yen for every 15 minutes, which feels a bit pricey, and the washrooms need more rack space for toiletries.

There was a supermarket nearby, so picking up snacks was easy. We stayed just one night. The bedroom was satisfactory, and the hotel is about a three-minute walk from the train station. Some of the paths get quite dark at night, but we still felt safe walking around. I could hear the trains from our room, and they woke me in the morning, though my husband slept right through.

I used this hotel as a base for sightseeing, and it was handy being close to Yakuin station. The room turned out larger than I expected, and I was pleased with it. The big bathroom was comfortable and relaxing too. I'd stay here again for another Fukuoka sightseeing trip.

We've stayed here twice, and the staff were polite and helpful on both stays. The room was clean and comfortable. There's paid parking, and the hot spring was nice. On the hot spring floor in early 2017, there were two electric massage beds you could try for free after bathing. They were relaxing. The hotel is close to subway and railway stations, and just one stop from Tenjin, the main shopping area. One drawback is noise in rooms near the rail, so I'd ask for one farther away. The breakfast is Japanese style only, which we didn't like, so we ate at a nearby cafe and MOSburger instead.
