It’s really good overall, but the room cleaning has been poor on both stays. In the sunlight, I could see clumps of dust rolling around under the bed. I cleaned it myself, and this was the second time with the same problem.

For around 5,000 yen a night, the price seems reasonable for international travelers. The room had a great view and was really clean, with a separate bathroom and toilet. It felt like an ordinary apartment lightly adapted for private lodging. Canal City Hakata is within a 10-minute walk, and Lawson is just a minute away. Kushida Shrine and Sumiyoshi Shrine are nearby too. The location is awkward to reach by car, so walking is better, though there’s coin parking around. Inside, there was a bed, gas stove, manually charged water heater, washing machine, LED lighting, free Wi-Fi, and a wall-mounted 40-inch TV. Amenities included body soap, shampoo, conditioner, and powder laundry detergent. Check-in was at a separate facility quite far from the hotel, which was a bit of a hassle. [January 2020]

The room’s facilities were decent and the location was good, but cleanliness was awful, with stains on the sheets. Finding check-in was confusing, and I could barely get the front door open. A guest happened to come in and helped me get inside so I could check in on the tablet. I called through the tablet three times. The first male staff member video-called, but his English was poor, his instructions weren’t clear, and the call ended after he told us to wait. A kinder female staff member eventually helped using translation software. The whole check-in took an hour.
