Akasaka Station is close by, and the ORIX car rental spot is nearby too, which made the location convenient. The stay itself was disappointing. There was a noticeable smell in the room, very poor soundproofing, and a soft, misshapen bed that made it hard to sleep. Ambulance sirens went off through the night, while the neighbors talked loudly around 3 to 4 AM. I’d booked three extra nights, but canceled them and moved to another hotel.

The location and price were good, but the problems outweighed that for me. Check-in was passable, though mediocre and not especially friendly. I stayed during a very windy day a couple of weeks ago, and my room smelled like a sewer. I looked into it and found that some hotels can have this issue when an outside air intake is too close to an exhaust vent. It may be a design flaw, and apparently it doesn’t usually happen but can occur on very windy days. I’ve seen other reviews complain about the same smell, and the hotel needs to address it. My windows wouldn’t open, so I had to leave the room door open to let fresher hallway air in. I had trouble sleeping.

There was no greeting when guests came or went, and with no internal phone line, you have to go down to reception. The room felt like a jail cell, dim even with all the lights on, and not very clean, maybe a 5/10. I’m never staying here again and wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was affordable, neat, and comfortable, but the WiFi was so slow I couldn’t watch a movie at all. They also charged an additional Fukuoka tourist tax on top of the booking and tax I’d already paid. That seemed odd, since I stayed in Hakata the day before and wasn’t charged it there.
