Everything was self-service, and the room was roomy and comfortable. We had two queen beds plus a futon for the four of us. The location was convenient for Canal City.

The apartment was clean and tidy overall, though I noticed some dust on the bed frames. All four double beds were comfortable, and the pillows too. We stayed on the top floor, level 7, and the place is about a three-minute walk from Canal City Hakata in a central part of the city. Check-in went smoothly, but took a while because nobody was on site. For a large family that doesn’t need hotel facilities, it’s good value.

The main annoyance was how hard it was to get through the lobby doors. The instructions weren’t clear, and entering the pin code still didn’t let us in. Someone happened to come out, so we could get inside and check in. After that we had to scan a QR code, which sent us to a survey before giving us the code for our room door. The place is only a few minutes’ walk from the yatais. The accommodation itself was spacious, very clean, and right beside the river. We could open the balcony door and basically fish from there. But the ceiling insulation was paper thin. I could hear someone upstairs turning on the tap, even the water drops. It’s a really good place in some ways, but let down by a few things. If you sleep heavily, it may suit you.

The staff were helpful and replied to my email right away. We had a nice stay, and the location was excellent. I’ll definitely come back when we visit Fukuoka.
