The location is convenient, but this hotel falls below what I'd expect from a typical three-star hotel in Japan. The room is old, the sheets and blankets are worn, and the bathroom is dated and moldy. There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby, and sometimes in the elevator too. No drinking water is provided in the room, and it isn't cleaned or cleared of trash. Robes, towels, hair towels, and slippers aren't in the room either, you have to collect them from the lobby. There's no luggage storage service, only paid lockers.

I've been to JP many times, but this stay was missing the real Japanese hospitality I expected. The receptionists were Indian and didn't seem service-minded, so that JP charm just wasn't there. There are no customer lockers, only paid ones, and morning coffee costs extra too. Fine for an overnight business trip, but not for a week like we stayed.
The room itself was a letdown for the price: stained sink, dirty carpet, and noticeable noise inside the building. There was no breakfast or free drinking water, and storing luggage meant paying for coin lockers. My online booking for One Five Tenjin Fukuoka was made about a month ahead for more than ¥30,000 a night, as part of an international academic seminar. What really bothered me was that a colleague in our group booked the same room type directly at the counter for an extra night in the same period and paid around ¥9,000, less than a third of our online rate. I know hotel prices can change, but that gap felt unreasonable and unclear. The front desk's explanation didn't address whether it was fair. We came to Japan expecting fairness and hospitality, so this was very disappointing. I'd tell future guests to compare prices carefully and check the conditions before booking.
Right in the center of Tenjin, but the room is tiny, the bed mattress is uneven, and the amenities are old. There's no cleaning service or free luggage storage. It doesn't feel worth the price, and I think there are better options elsewhere.
The hotel is central, but tucked down a dark, narrow alley, and it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest train station. The rooms are small, as expected for hotels in Japan. There's no luggage storage at reception, just coin lockers for an extra charge. There's no daily cleaning. Guests have to leave used towels and rubbish outside their rooms. The staff are polite, but not helpful, and stick strictly to the rules without doing much to make guests feel welcome. With minimal amenities, self-service policies, and little support, I wouldn't recommend it if comfort or help during your stay matters to you.
