Trip Pod Tojin-Machi A

During my three nights, August 2-5, the children staying upstairs in Room 201 kept jumping and running up and down the stairs at night. I could hear them throughout the night from Room # 101, where I stayed on the first floor. There are only four rooms, two on each floor, so there wasn't much distance between us. It was a very bad experience, and probably my first and last stay at this budget hotel, where no services were provided throughout the stay. All the utensils were stained, so we avoided using them.

With the high ceilings, one air conditioner isn't enough. Cleaning needs to be more thorough: there's noticeable dust, especially on top of appliances, and hair left around. The freezer is frosted over, and I wouldn't want to use the cutlery. I'd rate the place higher if it were cleaner.

The room had only one air conditioner, meant for an 8-12 tatami mat room, and it was quite cold. I imagine it'll be unbearable in summer. The freezer ice was badly frosted, so I smashed it up. I tried checking in around midnight on December 25th, but it wouldn't work no matter how many times I tried. Calling them didn't help much: I was told to go all the way to a convenience store to pay the accommodation tax, which was frustrating. The room itself was spacious.

I was nervous after reading the reviews, but the automatic check-in was easy to understand and went smoothly. I like unmanned hotels, and this place felt spacious and comfortable, much better than the usual business hotels. The high ceiling and loft were features I really liked. Just keep in mind there's a 400 yen accommodation tax to pay later. I'd definitely like to stay again.
