For the price, it’s pretty good. The beds were extremely comfortable, everything was clean and organized, and the service was AMAZING. Big thanks to Irene and all the Japanese workers, I’m sorry I didn’t get your names. They were so gracious and helped with everything I needed. You can rent a non electric bike for 500 Yen/2 hrs, and breakfast is basic but nice to have. I took off a star because the hallways and bathrooms were very cold. There was also a data leak in their system, and scammers contacted me pretending to be them. I know that wasn’t their fault, but I’d recommend strengthening their security. And please change the AI music playlist in the lounge.

We stayed here a few times while traveling in Japan, and everything was perfect. It’s a posh hostel, and a bit expensive, but worth it. The rooms are spotless, and there’s a rooftop lounge where they serve a complimentary light breakfast. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help, especially Filipo from Portuguese, who has loads of information for travelers who don’t speak Japanese. He’s a great guy. Still, for the room price, having to go up to the second floor to shower was a letdown. And they serve margarine instead of butter with the toast, which I think is terrible for you. It feels stingy. The coffee is the cheapest brand too, and Saturdays are best avoided because the price doubles. My main gripe is the ¥200 bike parking fee. Really? It feels like penny pinching, especially for a place this expensive. We only encountered that at one other place, nowhere else charged customers for it.

The 9th-floor lounge had cooking facilities, utensils, vending machines, and books in several languages, mostly Japanese but some English. A fun touch when you arrive is the ‘Ship’s Cat’ art piece, which also helps confirm you’re at the right place. We had a private room with breakfast included, and the location, facilities, and cleanliness were all fantastic for the value. The staff were friendly and polite. I lost my key card and paid the ¥1000 yen fee at reception, but they found it later and gave my money back. A small gesture, but a lovely one. Thanks to everyone at WeBase for having us!

The shared space could use more power outlets, and the building only has one elevator. Aside from those shortcomings, the place was very clean and I was satisfied with my stay.
