It was clean, but the room wasn’t soundproof, so we could clearly hear people talking in neighboring rooms. There’s only one shared bathroom, on the first floor, and it’s a 30-minute walk from the train station. When we were exhausted from getting back from the city, we sometimes ordered an online taxi, which cost 1300-1500 yen. The owner is a Chinese grandma who speaks Mandarin, and she gives out eggs and tea every night.

The room was in a lovely middle-aged woman’s home, and everything was spotless, including the full bathroom and toilet. She brought us apples and iced coffee each day. She doesn’t speak English, but Google Translate worked well. It’s a fairly long walk from the station, though Funabashi had plenty of restaurants and bars and stayed lively late into the night.

It’s a budget-friendly place with decent rooms and good service from the owner. The main drawback is the distance: it’s 1.7 km from the train station, so getting there is a long walk.

There wasn’t much in the room, so this is really just a place to sleep overnight. The staff were kind and gave us bottled water, green tea, fruit, and masks for free. The toilet was very dirty, though, and the shower was shared and located on the first floor.

A lovely little place in a quiet area, and the house was very clean. The owners were so nice and brought us drinks whenever we came back. I had a wonderful stay here.
