LA VISTA Furano Hills Hot Springs

The breakfast was a mess when we went down at 8:45. It was packed, some dishes had run out and weren't replenished, even though breakfast still had 45 minutes to go. Staff started clearing the buffet before 9:15 and hurried everyone out right at 9:30, which made the whole meal unpleasant. We got a clean room, as we'd expect from this hotel chain, and there were plenty of washing machines. The front door staff also did a good job handling cars and umbrellas. But room 423, our standard double non-smoking room on 28 May 2026, smelled of cigarette smoke. The women's house pants were worn out and full of holes, and there was a long woman's hair on the bath towel in the basket. Yuck. The pillow was too hard for me. At night the air conditioning switched to heat and couldn't be adjusted. Even set to 19 degrees, the room went over 25 and we could barely sleep. It cooled down from 8am, but stayed at 23.5, still too warm for us. Housekeeping and reception staff stayed silent and avoided eye contact. We didn't get a single greeting when checking out. A receptionist wearing glasses also flatly refused to make a dinner reservation for us, saying, "NO we do not ...." We'd stayed at many hotels in this group around Japan and had never been refused help like that, especially so rudely. At Dormy Inn Kanazawa in April 2026, staff helped book a restaurant with warm smiles. This was our second stay at this Furano hotel, and I disliked it this time. The two stars are for the clean room and the front door staff. Compared with our last visit in 2024, the service had dropped drastically, and this stay hurt my impression of the hotel group.

The 9th floor was a highlight: a wonderful onsen with indoor and outdoor pools, separate communal baths for men and women, and three private soaking rooms. There are also massage chairs with a stunning mountain view, plus a laundry on that floor. The free ice cream treats were a nice extra. We had a great stay at La Vista in Jan ‘26. Our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet had an amazing range of choices that should suit almost anyone. If you're staying in Furano, it's hard to beat.

The food was the best part for me, and on our second night they even offered guests free ramen. It was surprisingly good. The hotel is also in a really handy spot, close to Furano Station, with a supermarket and a few restaurants nearby. I loved this place. The service was top notch, the room was comfy, and the lobby was pretty big. I think they offered a drop off and pickup service. Another thing I appreciated was that they didn't charge for late checkout. I'm impressed and would definitely come back ❤️

The onsen was lovely, with an outdoor spa and massage water jets. Afterward, the complimentary ramen and ice lolly made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was great too, with good food including salmon roe and Amaebi. We were five people, including one child, and found the room cozy yet spacious enough for our family. I'd recommend it for a group of four or five.
