The two young guys working when we visited made our short stay enjoyable. Their English was fantastic, they were very welcoming, and they clearly love their jobs and talking with guests. I’d recommend this place if you visit off-peak and want to socialize with other travelers and staff. It’s cozy, so I imagine it could get a bit noisy in peak season. If we come back to Furano, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The location and amenities aren’t the best, and the facilities aren’t the cleanest or most modern, but they’re more than acceptable for the price. The shared showers were huge and quite nice. Rooms were reasonably sized with good air conditioning, though the beds weren’t the most comfortable.

As the name suggests, it’s definitely small. The shared spaces feel cramped, but the rooms are spacious. It’s very close to the ski field gondola, and the staff are nice and helpful. Breakfast is basic, just eggs, toast, and bananas, but it’s still a good way to start the day.

The room itself was good, but the shower was being renovated, so we were sent to use the onsen at a nearby hotel. When we tried to go, it was closed, and the staff at Petit Melon hadn't told us the opening times in advance. The staff also came across as a bit rude. One other thing to know: the online discount seems to be for Hokkaido residents only. Even residents of Japan from outside Hokkaido are charged an extra 6000.

We found it a great base for a ski holiday, with comfortable rooms, a handy location, and welcoming staff. Breakfast felt good value, and the 8 to 9 happy hour was a nice chance to chat with other guests.

A small, pleasant hotel close to the Gondola, with Furano Snow School just 50 meters away. The building feels almost new and stays warm in winter. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I was very satisfied.
