Business Hotel Gujohachiman Inter

I didn’t expect breakfast to cost extra. And I know it may sound odd coming from someone who cleans my room, but I wish they’d keep the bugs out. I don’t want stink bugs coming in while I’m trying to relax.

I was here for work, but next time I’m in Gujo I’ll pick another hotel, even if it means going a little farther. The room was humid and smelled strongly of it, and the dampness made it hard to sleep even with the air conditioning on. The bed itself was firm. I also didn’t like seeing the bed reflected in the mirror, so I covered myself with my clothes.

The shower was weak and only lukewarm, and the double room was small and rather dim. Its slippers were a little dusty, so I left them off. At check-in, the staff member was dismissive and overly casual from the start, with a condescending attitude. They didn’t explain breakfast or anything else. I wouldn’t recommend this place for business or leisure.

The first-floor coffee shop is a good deal: you can pick one of 6 drinks for 500 yen. Some small things bothered me, though. Cleaning started early in the morning, and the hallway windows were wide open before checkout, so it was cold. The service didn’t match what I’d read in reviews. It felt like a business hotel run by a country bumpkin, though comparing it with the Imperial Hotel would be unfair.
