We loved Hakone and were sad to leave. The women working here were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. There are several kinds of stays: private rooms, separate dorms with big individual lockable spaces that are almost like loft rooms, and a larger shared room downstairs that looks like a regular hostel. My partner and I fit all our luggage in the loft-style space and slept comfortably. There are separate men's and women's bathrooms on both floors, away from the rooms, plus sinks. The showers are mixed, but each one is private, with a big wooden door, so it didn't feel weird. The crowd was social but not too young. The staff put on a big dinner you can sign up for, and you sit by the firepit wearing a komono. The separate kitchen is huge, with a seating area, a big fridge, and everything you need. The place was clean too, honestly a 10/10 hostel.

This felt like a special, welcoming place for younger people or anyone young at heart. The staff were more than friendly, and they enthusiastically helped us plan our time in Hakone. Family-style meals were available, and all the shared facilities were clean. We even got laundry done easily. Sarah and Nao were wonderful hosts, offering recommendations, friendly conversation, and great attention to detail. I'd recommend it highly unless shared facilities aren't for you.

We had a really nice time. The hosts were warm and friendly, guiding us and explaining everything. We signed up for the shared dinner by the Irori, sat with other tourists, and had cozy conversations while wearing a kimono provided by the place. Afterward, we slept very well. Lights go out at 22:00, and silence is required after that. I'd definitely stay again if we return to Hakone.

The owner and staff were really kind and friendly, and the place is right by the Open Air Museum. I booked the day before my Hakone stay because I just wanted somewhere inexpensive. It was a six-minute walk from Odakyu station and the shared dorm, with eight other people, was very clean, though the blanket sheet looked worn. They provide earplugs if snoring might bother you.

The hosts made the stay feel special, and the dinner they put on was a lovely way to share a meal and meet the other guests. It was the perfect place for my time in Hakone, with views of Mt Fugi and the surrounding area. I’ll be back. Much love, Yoshi.
