That dinner is still on my mind two weeks later. It was the best dining experience I've ever had, and I really want to return. The room was huge and beautiful, with a hot bath on the balcony, and the Onsen was amazing. It's also right near Gora station. The staff were friendly and professional. Best hotel I've stayed at.

Getting here from Gora Station was really easy. The hotel's website has clear directions, which helped a lot. Our room was amazing, with a private onsen, a footpath, and a complimentary bedrock bath. They also supplied pajamas and traditional yukata for the spa. The coffee shop across the street has friendly staff, so I'd recommend stopping by. We had a great stay and will definitely come back.

The dinners were superb, and the foot-soaking bar area was a highlight. The hotel is handy for both the train and Ropeway, though arriving by train means carrying luggage up two flights of stairs. Breakfast is traditional Japanese, the only option, so bear that in mind if you include it. The website mentions dietary accommodations, but they couldn't meet our restrictions. Our room in the anex building was comfortable and came with toiletries and drinks, but the layout was odd. The only sink was by the bed, separate from both the toilet and shower, and we couldn't figure out one of the confusing light switches.

Updated rating: overall, this place was pretty good, though the washroom could use work. For an onsen hotel, $500 per person per night felt neither especially cheap nor expensive. We booked ahead for a larger, nice room, but I think the property needs renovation. The toilet smelled and didn't feel clean. Staff seemed understaffed and very busy on the first day of 2026, and I felt bad for them. The food looked pretty and was alright. The towel warmer wasn't working, which was disappointing. The onsen is small, but it was nice that it wasn't crowded.

The rooms are great, but skip the meal package. The vegetarian meals were awful and overpriced, costing the same as the meat dishes. For my last dinner I got a plate of raw vegetables to cook in hot water, with no noodles or anything else. I would've been better off eating somewhere outside.
