Kudo's Lodge

Kudo-san was friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English. The lodge is also handy for the ski resorts, about a 5-minute drive to Tsugaike and 10 minutes to Iwatake. The beds were really comfortable, each room had a large bathroom, and the kitchen appliances were extremely good. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

It’s a short drive to the ski resort, supermarkets, and places to eat, and the place is away from the busier tourist areas. Inside, everything was clean and tidy, and the host was very hospitable. We were able to do some simple cooking too, since the utensils were clean and basic seasonings were provided. We had a wonderful stay.

A really comfortable, nice house with everything we needed. Mr.Kudo was so kind and took excellent care of us. The price was very reasonable too.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but our time at this lodge became such a memorable part of the trip that I wanted to write about it. Mr. Kudo has a wonderful personality, and when our guest count changed at the last minute, he kindly made room for us. We also had a really interesting, educational chat with him during the barbecue. The barbecue setup and cleanup were handled by the manager with such practiced ease that even beginners could feel comfortable. The living room’s high ceiling makes it feel spacious, and the three separate guest rooms each have their own shower room. I think that layout would be enjoyable for couples or several families. Thank you! If I return to Hakuba, I’d definitely want to stay here again.
